Acum cateva saptamani cineva mi-a adus in atentie alergia la ciocolata/cacao de care auzisem, dar nu ma informasem despre ea. Intrigata fiind, am facut cateva cautari, in special dupa moduri de a inlocui ciocolata in mod eficient cu un ingredient care sa semene la gust, textura si aroma, multe din retetele mele continand ciocolata sau cacao, devenind astfel inaccesibile pentru cei care traiesc cu alergia asta zi de zi. Si asa am ajuns la carob sau pudra de roscove, aceasta pudra atat de similara cu cacaoa si atat de plina de beneficii pentru sanatate. Si m-a impresionat prin faptul ca gustul e atat de similar si culoarea e dementiala, extrem de intensa o data ce intra in contact cu un lichid, deci chiar e un inlocuitor viabil pentru retetele cu cacao.

Aceste trufe sunt raw, vegane, nu au gluten, nu au lactoza si nici cacao, deci sunt potrivite pentru o multime de afectiuni. In plus, puteti adauga in compozitia lor tot felul de seminte – eu am folosit un mix de seminte care contine seminte de chia, seminte de dovleac si de in si inca vreo doua feluri, insa voi puteti folosi ce va place.

Aceste trufe cu pudra de roscove reusesc sa fie delicioase, cu toate ca sunt raw vegane. Ele contin numai ingrediente bune pentru sanatate sau digestie si nu contin gluten sau zahar procesat!

Ingrediente
 

  • 300 g curmale fara samburi
  • 2 linguri mix de seminte
  • 2 linguri sirop de agave
  • 1/2 lingurita extract de vanilie
  • 2 linguri ulei de cocos (topit)
  • 4 linguri pudra de roscove
  • 1 praf de sare

Instructiuni

  • Puneti curmalele intr-un bol si acoperiti cu apa fierbinte. Lasati 5 minute apoi scurgeti foarte bine si transferati intr-un bol.
  • Adaugati restul ingredientelor si pulsati pana obtineti un amestec care poate fi format in bile/trufe. Daca amestecul e moale, mai adaugati 1-2 linguri pudra de roscove.
  • Formati bile din amestecul de trufe si rulati fiecare trufa prin pudra de roscove sau nuca de cocos.

This recipe ”Healthy Carob Truffles – Dessert Recipe- Trufe cu pudra de roscove” gave me the opportunity to try a completely new ingredient to me – carob. Actually the story goes like this: a few weeks ago I received an email from someone telling me about a recently diagnosed cocoa/chocolate allergy and asking me about viable substitues that were easy to find and didn’t require robbing a bank in order to have a proper supply at all times. So I began investigating and every article I read led me to carob, this brown powder that has a similar taste to cocoa powder, similar color and a ton of health benefits, such as boosting digestion and reducing cholesterol or sugar levels. Unlike chocolate, carob doesn’t seem to have side effects, although apparently there’s not scientific evidence of that. However, as long as you don’t eat sachets of carob after sachets and only ingest what a recipe calls for normally, it’s totally safe, for both kids and grown-ups.

These carob truffles are raw, gluten-free, lactose free, vegan and suited for those suffering from chocolate/cocoa allergy. I added 2 tablespoons of mixed seeds to boost the nutritional content. The mix I used combines chia seeds, flax seeds, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds, but feel free to use your favorite mix or just pick one seed or skip adding them alltogether.

Ingrediente
 

  • 300 g dates (pitted)
  • 2 tablespoons mixed seeds (chia seeds, sunflower seeds, flax seeds or any other seeds you like)
  • 2 tablespoons agave syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil (melted)
  • 4 tablespoons carob powder
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructiuni

  • Place the dates in a bowl and cover them with hot water. Let them soak up for 2 minutes then drain well and place them in a food processor.
  • Add the mixed seeds, agave syrup, vanilla extract, coconut oil, a pinch of salt and carob powder and pulse until a paste forms.
  • Form small balls of this mixture and roll each of them through carob powder or shredded coconut if you prefer.
