{Banoffee Pie} – Tarta cu banane si caramel

banoffee pie

Bananas + Caramel = LOVE, don’t you think? It’s probably the best description I can think of at this moment about this banoffee pie. It’s so creamy, moist and delicious that it keeps you craving for more.. I mean, how can you not like a sweet, delicious, buttery layer of crushed biscuits, covered with banana slices, flooded with a fragrant caramel sauce, topped with a vanilla flavored whipped cream?!?!! It’s heaven for your taste buds!

Crust:

  • 150g graham crackers
  • 60g butter, melted
  1. Crush the biscuits in a food processor then stir in the melted butter. Transfer the mixture in a round baking pan and press it well on the bottom and sides of the pan.
  2. Bake the crust in the preheated oven at 180C for 15 minutes. This step is not compulsory, but I recommend it because it improves the taste.
  3. Let the crust cool down in the pan.

Toffee filling:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 30g butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  1. Melt the sugar in a heavy saucepan.
  2. stir in the butter and mix until melted.
  3. Add the heavy cream and cook on low heat until the sugar is melted and the sauce is smooth and thick.

In addition yo this, you will also need 2-3 ripe bananas and 200ml whipped cream.

Slice the bananas and place them into the crust. Top with the toffee filling and decorate with whipped cream.

Serve the pie chilled. Enjoy!

Romana!

Banane + Caramel = LOVE…
Tentant, nu-i asa?!! Exact asta a fost si gandul meu.

Crusta:

  • 150g biscuiti integrali
  • 60g unt topit
  1. Macinati biscuitii fin, apoi amestecatii cu untul topit.
