{Homemade Petit Beurre} – Biscuiti obisnuiti
The perfect homemade biscuits, very similar to the well known Petit Beurre.
Serves:: 4 dozen
  • 500g plain flour
  • 100g cornstarch
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 200g powdered sugar
  • 125g butter, melted
  • 175ml milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • zest from 1 lemon
  1. Sift the flour, cornstarch, salt and baking powder in a bowl and place aside.
  2. In the bowl of your mixer, combine the butter, milk, vanilla and lemon zest. Stir in the sugar.
  3. Attach the dough hook and begin incorporating the flour mixture.
  4. When all the flour has been added, transfer the dough on a floured surface and knead it a few times.
  5. Shape the dough into a log and wrap it well into plastic wrap. Refrigerate at least 3 hours, preferably overnight.
  6. Remove the dough from the fridge and place it on a floured working surface.
  7. Roll the dough into a thin sheet (1/2 cm) then cut the desired shapes using cookie cutters.
  8. Place the biscuits on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake at 330F (170C) for 10-15 minutes or until the edges begin to turn golden brown.
  9. Remove them from the oven and let them cool in the pan then store in an airtight container or a ziplock bag.
Replace the lemon zest with orange zest, lavender or any other flavors you like.
Store them up to 1 week in an airtight container.
