As many of you who follow me on my Social Media, behind this blog, I am also teaching pastry classes. It’s been over 5 years now of meeting new people and guiding their steps through the twines of pastry. And it’s been incredible! All the passion, the laughter, the joy and the humanity I got to witness in these 5 years is beyond words! It feels surreal as I grew up being afraid of working with people and here I am now actually doing what I thought I would never do. The rewards of this work are addictive: seeing people learn more, evolve, become better at their craft, their joy of doing so… everything is amazing!
But the last couple of months have brought changes in our lives and here we are focusing on the online part as well. It was not an easy switch, but the more I develop these online classes, the more I like it. The human interaction may not be the same, but the rewards are! Plus, I now get to have students from all over the world and this can only mean more feedback for my recipes and more diverse, interesting thoughts to be exchanged, new ideas to develop.
This blog has been live for over 8 years now and even though its main focus never changed, my life behind it did quite a lot. And even more so what I knew and know about pastry. I reached a point where I feel I have a lot to give in terms of knowledge regarding pastry, even though I still have a lot to learn myself. That’s where these online classes were born from and my focus is to grow even more in this direction.
A new page has appeared on the blog – Online Classes – and that is where I will upload new recipes and classes from now on. You will find three of my most loved recipes in there for now, but more will come as time goes by. I would love to hear from you what recipes and classes are you most interested in actually. Let’s make this a joint effort and bring our passion to the next level together!
The classes available for now are:
- Red Velvet Layered Cake – a mix of tangy red velvet sponge cake, raspberry marmalade and the delicate aroma of a goat cheese cheesecake
- Pineapple Mint Layered Cake – a combination of mint sponge cake, pineapple mint marmalade and lime cremeux
- Caramel Carrot Cake – a recipe that brings the carrot cake to the next level by combining the classic carrot sponge with the most amazing salted caramel and crunchy caramelized walnuts.
The reason I call these classes is the fact that I kept true to my philosophy of teaching and I included information regarding not just the recipe itself, but also regarding the ingredients used. I strongly believe that understanding the recipe and the chemistry behind is the key to becoming better at this craft! Each online class includes the recipe itself, how to video for each recipe element and additional information regarding ingredients or the techniques used at making the recipe. So really there’s no way of going wrong!
How it works
In order to get access to the classes you first need to create an account. Choose your class and Add it to Cart. Once the order goes through, you will get access to your newly acquired classes in the My Account page. You will have access to the classes indefinite time so you can bake the recipes on your own terms.
I wish this website keeps moving more and more to becoming a pastry hub for any pastry lover out there. But until then, thank you for following me, for being by my side, for trying my recipes and resonating with my view of seeing desserts. It has been an amazing journey so far! And this new chapter has got me very excited for sure!
